Jamie W. Thomas
Jamie Washington Thomas was born and raised in Northwest Washington, D.C.; Uptown is what she likes to call it. She graduated from Bowie State University in 2009 with a B.S. in Social Work and finished her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December 2018 from Trinity Washington University. Since 2012, she has worked in Social Services with District Government serving the District residents.
She is married to Drew Thomas and together they have two Earthly sons, Jonathan and Jordan. In 2015, Jamie became pregnant for the first time and life came to a
screeching halt when she and her husband lost their son, Jacob, due to an incompetent cervix. Her journey started that day and has been filled with many opportunities to speak to people about their experiences. Jamie is always asked, “How are you able to share your story with so many people and not become overwhelmed?” Her answer: “God and transparency have been my greatest healers.”
